Valerie Brown is the office administrator at the Gill Foundation. Valerie handles a myriad of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our office. Hers is the voice you are most likely to hear greeting you when you call. She manages the Gill Foundation’s Gay & Lesbian Fund Community Room in Denver, working with nonprofit organizations who use our meeting space.
Prior to joining the foundation in 2009, Valerie worked in the development departments of Up With People and Metropolitan State College of Denver, and was the office manager at the Colorado Oil and Gas Association. She has more than 20 years of administrative experience working for all manner of businesses in the Denver area.
Although her degree from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts is in acting, Valerie found her passion for Balkan music in the 1980s and has devoted decades to the study and performance of this rich and hauntingly beautiful music. She lives with her husband and two sons in the ’burbs on the west side of Denver, where she likes to cook, make music, and create jewelry.
