Christopher Robertson

Associate Program Officer, Gay & Lesbian Fund

Christopher Robertson joined the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado in the spring of 2003. As associate program officer, Chris is responsible for the review and analysis of grant proposals and initiating funding recommendations. He is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with potential and current Gay & Lesbian Fund grantees, building community alliances, and conducting outreach to help foster a better understanding of the mission and partnership goals of the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado. Chris originally joined the Gay & Lesbian Fund as its community outreach associate, where he managed the public relations and marketing components of grantmaking.

Chris has more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, and has held staff, board, and advisory committee positions with nonprofit and community service organizations in both Louisiana and Colorado. While in Louisiana, he served on the boards and program committees of organizations including The NO/AIDS Task Force, The New Orleans Gay & Lesbian Community Center, and Project Lazarus. He was a co-founder and program developer for Friends For Life AIDS Resource Center, the first Baton Rouge, Louisiana based crisis center which provided complete social service access programs to those affected by or infected with HIV or AIDS.

Currently, he is a board member of the Pikes Peak Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center, a board member of CASA of the Pikes Peak Region, a committee member of the Pikes Peak Fund for Tolerance and Equality, volunteers for Southern Colorado AIDS Project, and Inside/Out Youth Services of Colorado Springs, and is a member of local community service organizations including the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership, The Old North End Neighborhood Association, Citizen’s Project, The NAACP, and The Urban League of the Pikes Peak Region.

Chris is a native of southern Louisiana who moved to Colorado in 1997, and is proud to call Colorado Springs his adopted home. He enjoys being in the kitchen, the garden, the theatre and concert hall, and is inspired by the beautiful Colorado outdoors, and by the abundant generosity, patience, goodwill, and warmth of his beautiful and amazing friends.
