Elizabeth Akalin joined the Gill Foundation in February, 2008 as the Accounting Associate. While in this position, Elizabeth provided administrative support to the CFO, assisted with the accounts payables process, and managed special projects. Today, Elizabeth is the Senior Grants Management Associate responsible for processing all Gill Foundation grants while working with grantees and her team to ensure legal compliance.
Before joining the Gill Foundation, Elizabeth was the receptionist and office manager for Adoption Alliance, an LGBT-friendly adoption agency, where she coordinated all adoption inquiries and special services for the foster care program.
Elizabeth completed her Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University in December of 2009, building on her BA in Psychology from Webster University. Now that Elizabeth has finally finished school, she enjoys being an active board member of Howard Dental Center, a local nonprofit that offers free and low-cost comprehensive oral healthcare to people living with HIV and AIDS.
