Julie Voyles

Senior Program Officer

Julie Voyles joined the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado as a program officer in 2003. Today she serves as the senior program officer for the Gill Foundation’s LGBT and HIV grantmaking in Colorado. As the senior program officer she is responsible for developing grantmaking strategies, conducting outreach to current and potential grantees, building collaborative opportunities, developing initiatives, and reviewing and processing grant applications.

Prior to joining the Gill Foundation, Julie was the director of youth services at the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center of Colorado where she managed the drop-in center for LGBTQ youth and acted as an advocate for LGBTQ teens in school and community settings. Julie also helped build bridges with allies by serving on a number of community coalitions, including the Denver Public School Board’s Gay and Lesbian Education Advisory Council, the Mayor of Denver’s Youth Housing Project, and the Suicide Task Force for the Department of Public Health and Public Safety

Julie holds a bachelor of science in Leisure Management and Tourism from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s of Social Work from the University of Denver. She is currently the board chair for a Denver-based youth program, cityWILD. With her move to Colorado in 1997 to attend the University of Denver, Julie fell in love with the state’s sunshine and endless mountain adventures.
