Chuck Williams founded the Williams Institute in 2000 because he wanted to help stop discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans. The goal of the Institute is to advance sexual orientation law and public policy through rigorous, independent research and scholarship, and disseminate it to judges, legislators, policymakers, media, and the public. Learn more from Chuck about the history of the Institute and how he collaborated with other funders, including other OutGivers, to build the Institute into one of the most impactful organizations working to advance LGBT equality.
