Prior to 2007, it was legal in most of Colorado to discriminate against gay and transgender people simply for being who they are. The mission of the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Tulsa is to suppport effective Tulsa area nonprofits which practice diversity in their policies and workplace while building public awareness of the contributions that the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community and their friends, family, and other allies make to improve the quality of life in the Tulsa area.
The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Dallas serves as an outlet to consolidate money that is already being given by gay men and lesbians to non-LGBT causes. Organizations that receive grants from the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Dallas must have a nondiscrimination policy that includes sexual orientation and must recognize the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Dallas as the grant source.

This year’s report focuses on the efforts of individuals and organizations working to advance equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people at all stages of life. [Colorado Springs] (May 13, 2008) – One year ago this month, Colorado passed into law an amended version of the Employment Nondiscrimination Act (ENDA). The new ENDA extends workplace discrimination protections to include sexual orientation and gender identity. As the one-year anniversary approaches, the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado is encouraging corporations, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and other business entities to ensure that they are in compliance with the law. The fund also assists employers with their compliance efforts by providing informational resources to help accelerate and simplify that process.
