Build a Better Colorado

Colorado becomes an even better place to live, work, and play when people from all walks of life can fully participate and contribute to their communities. That’s why for 16 years, the Gill Foundation has made improving the quality of life for all Colorado residents one of our top priorities.

The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado was established as a program of the foundation to reflect the fact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Coloradans are committed to our state and its future. Over the years, we have granted $24.8 million to hundreds of high-impact nonprofits that better the quality of life for all Coloradans by providing important arts and culture, civic participation, healthy families, and public broadcasting programs. The Gay & Lesbian Fund does not provide financial support to organizations that exclusively serve the state’s LGBT population.

Our basic belief is that Colorado is made stronger when it welcomes and includes all people regardless of their sexual orientation or gender expression.  We rededicate ourselves to this important work everyday by providing nonprofits, civic organizations, government agencies and businesses with the wide variety of resources they need to be successful and inclusive.

Support to Colorado’s important LGBT and HIV/AIDS organizations is provided directly by the foundation.
